THE STORY
You never thought of it that way:
gorgeous Mickey Mouse Creatures as big glossy photographs beamed into the crazy, ultra-colored and the glittering K-PAX world. A classic Pop Art theme completely new and surprisingly interpreted.
It all started when Teddy Marks asked artists like Matthias Poltrock, the artist behind K-PAX, to create some artwork for his coffee-table photo book REBORN, based on his photographs. Matthias created two dazzlingly colorful K-PAX works for the book, as well as a stunning scenery from his Millionaire's View. From that point on, it was quickly clear that further collaborations would be necessary.
So after a short time, the idea arose to celebrate Mickey Mouse's 90th anniversary with a double exhibition at the Foxx Gallery in Zurich, where the great year would be honoured with further glaringly provocative works. With fresh photographs specially created for the occasion by Teddy Marks, the artists set to work and created previously unseen collages with the cute mice from Mouseton. With their homage to the eternally young Disney character, K-PAX & Marks are presenting their works together for the first time with great success in the exhibition "90 Years of Mickey Mouse" at the Foxx Gallery, Zurich from 17 November to 22 December 2018.

THE ARTISTS
K-PAX / MAtthias Poltrock
Matthias Poltrock is a freelance painter and artist from Borgholzhausen. He has made a name for himself with exhibitions throughout Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands. In his abstract works, Poltrock mostly plays with color and surface effects, sometimes expressive, sometimes reserved. But the artist also experiments with structures, collages, builds objects from found objects and always curiously explores new paths. As K-PAX, he has developed a completely new POP ART variation: amazing 3D collages that are bursting with energy and joie de vivre. Bright colors and strong contrasts, digital picture elements, surprising found objects and painting are literally screwed together here. This worldwide unique 3D technology convinces with originality and sparkling screw heads. K-PAX is represented in galleries and at art fairs at home and abroad.
TEDDY MARKS
Only few photographers refine a piece of solid craftsmanship with their own creativity into an emotionally moving work. Teddy Marks is without doubt one of them. Not only are his nude photographs highly aesthetic testimonies of female beauty, his photographs also carry little stories within them, telling of joy and lust for life, of passion and longing, of dreaming and ecstasy, of lostness and moments in which women are completely absorbed in themselves. Growing up in a small Westphalian town, Teddy Marks first studied biology and worked for years as a music producer and songwriter with his own music production company. Besides music, photography was always the passion of his life. Only in recent years has he dedicated himself to this art form intensively and with pure joy of life. Teddy Marks is author of the photo book REBORN, published by Huber Verlag.
