When did you start with creating artworks and what was your first impulse to do so?

“I've liked to draw since I was a child. But my parents didn't think it was serious enough, and when they wanted to send me to the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, I realized that it was time to insist on my own abilities, that I was an artistic person. So my first impulse to approach studying art was to prove to my parents that I could and wanted to enter the Faculty of Design.”

How has moving from Moscow to Bali, Indonesia changed the way you approach your art?

“My first trip took place as soon as I turned 18, and it was India that changed my world view dramatically. Since then I have been dreaming of escaping from my country, from my city Moscow. Then I travelled a lot around the world and lived in different countries, but one of my favourite places was always Bali, where I often returned to. Many years later I decided to live on this paradise island.”

When did you become interested in the female form and feminine beauty as a piece of your art?

“After having travelled almost all over the world, I realised that the most beautiful motifs of all I have seen and which inspire me the most are the ocean and the woman. That is why in my art the maritime theme and the curves of the female forms are favoured.”

Are you exploring other mediums than painting for your artwork?

“I use all possible media for my art: oil paint, acrylic, watercolour, drawing, graphics, sketches for tattoos and digital art, depending on what best reflects my idea.”

Would you say that the expression of your artworks is a reflection of how you feel?

“My works reflect a part of my soul that wants beauty and harmony to reign in the world. I have a series of works about sea shells, which symbolize a feminine nature and an energy that is an important part of the life circle of the earth.”

Is there something about being an artist which makes you see the world in a different way?

“I think it’s amazing to be inspired and to be an inspiration for other people.”

Your painting we had for our shoot is very colourful. Have your style of painting and the selection of colours been always like this?

“Yes, I used my favourite colours in this painting, pastel palette with some light effects. My main focus was on blending colours. It is a magical process when you mix and create your own balance and harmony in painting. Most of my works are colourful, bright, yet pastel, but I also like graphics that are simply black and white.”

What made you stay on Bali? What are your plans for the future?

“I feel blessed to stay in Bali. Sea, sunrise, sunset, nature and an international community make you feel cosmopolitan.”

What are the 5 wishes in your life that you would like to fulfil?

“I would like a big, bright house near the sea. I want to travel the whole world. To meet the man of my dreams. :) I want to open my own workshop-studio. It will be a space where I can sell my art, offer art classes for children, do charity work and open exhibitions. And finally, be happy.”

Which 5 attributes would describe you best?

“First of all I am a muse, then kind, listenable, creative and a dreamer. :)”

“The most beautiful motifs of all I have seen and which inspire me the most are the ocean and the woman.”
