Our two novices Anna and Nastya enjoyed a secular summer afternoon in the monastery garden in Sicily.
They had been tending to the monastery's lush gardens, pruning roses and watering the plants.
The heat of the day made them feel sticky and uncomfortable, their robes clinging to their skin and making every movement a chore.
As they worked, they exchanged glances, their eyes twinkling mischievously.
Finally, when they could bear the heat no longer, the two novices made a decision that would certainly have caused a stir if anyone had seen them.
Anna and Nastya slipped out of their robes, left them on the ground and stepped out into the sun, naked as on the first day.
The feeling of the sun on their skin was intoxicating, like a balm that soothed their tired bodies and awakened their spirits.
They laughed and played in the garden, their voices sounding like the ringing of a bell.
Our top photographer Lukas Dvorak masterfully tells a dreamlike story that can surely only take place in our imagination.
But who knows?
